As the days stretch long into golden evenings, we’re excited to present this season’s lineup of Summer fun reds—vibrant, energetic, and suitable for warm weather dining, alfresco conversations, and sharing with friends. This release celebrates inspiring, satisfying reds that deliver structure and elegance without unnecessary heaviness. We call them “crushable reds”—wines you’ll reach for again and again this summer.
A legend returns with the 2016 Marquisat de Binet “Cuvée Abel”. One of the first true benchmark kosher Bordeaux wines, Cuvée Abel has been with us since the 2012 vintage and continues to impress. This special cuvée is aged entirely in concrete, with no oak influence, allowing the pure Montagne Saint-Émilion Merlot fruit and mineral-laced terroir to shine through. Expect vibrant cherries, subtle spice, and earthy depth. It’s both classic and supremely drinkable—a Bordeaux that proves finesse doesn’t require wood. I don’t think there’s another kosher wine that has a current release at nearly 10 years of age. This is magic in a bottle, and there’s simply no other explanation.
We’ve always had a soft spot for Saint-Émilion, and this new Grand Cru from La Fleur Perey is a thrilling addition to the region’s top kosher offerings. La Fleur Perey was already a beautiful expression of Saint-Émilion—but with the involvement of Jean Guyon, the visionary behind the legendary kosher series of Rollan de By, it’s been elevated into something truly exceptional, ready to take its place among the great kosher wines. Grown on the prized clay-gravel soils of Saint-Sulpice de Faleyrens, it showcases the results of precision farming and expert winemaking. Vinified in a mix of large-format barrels and concrete, it delivers ripe plum, cassis, and polished tannins. Delicious now with the freshness of the vintage, it’s also clearly built to evolve with grace.
The 2023 Broad Brush Syrah Blend is Central Coast sunshine in a bottle—radiant and bold, yet deceptively refined. This co-fermented blend of Syrah, Grenache, and Grenache Blanc channels the tradition of Côte Rôtie, where a splash of white grapes lends lift and polish to red wines. Here, a healthy dose of Grenache Blanc subtly rounds out the wine’s structure, giving it an elegant texture reminiscent of Châteauneuf-du-Pape, with the bite and complexity of a Northern Rhône red. Red and blue fruits, savory spice, and a prolonged, satisfying finish make this our finest vintage of Broad Brush Syrah yet. This wine is drinking very nicely now, but keep in mind that Central Coast Rhone blends can be surprisingly rewarding in the cellar.
Finally, our fifth vintage from this trusted estate in the hills above Nuits-Saint-Georges, and perhaps the most complete expression yet. The 2023 J-P Marchand Hautes Côtes de Nuits Burgundy is already drawing comparisons to legendary vintages for its elegance, structure, and clarity of fruit—and this wine is a prime example. Bright cherry, crushed stone, and soft tannins offer immediate charm, but there’s enough depth to surprise you with a few years in the cellar. While many still think of Pinot Noir as a Thanksgiving staple, it’s one of the most versatile wines for warm weather—especially when you follow a sommelier’s favorite tip: chill it in the fridge for 15 minutes before serving to amplify its freshness and aromatic lift. A beautiful, classic Burgundy that’s just as at home at a summer table as a holiday feast.
This season’s selection is all about pure enjoyment—reds that are vibrant, expressive, and ready to drink now, whether you’re grilling outdoors, gathering with friends, or just unwinding at the end of the day. Each bottle brings something unique to the table, and we hope they add flavor, freshness, and joy to your summer.
