Wine Club Release – Bordeaux Trio!

For our Bordeaux-loving members, the box you’ve been waiting for has arrived! This quarter, we’re thrilled to present three remarkable wines that showcase the very best of Bordeaux’s legendary diversity. From the bold power and precision of Saint-Estèphe to the refined elegance of Montagne Saint-Émilion, this collection embodies everything we love about this iconic region. This release features the 2022 Château de Côme Saint-Estèphe, 2022 Château Meilhan Bordeaux Supérieur, and the 2018 Marquisat de Binet Folie d’Élie—each one a mini masterclass to the artistry, versatility, and brilliance of Bordeaux winemaking.

The 2022 Château de Côme Saint-Estèphe represents a continuation of the legacy established by Château Clauzet, a past Liquid Kosher favorite. With the same ownership and management, Château de Côme maintains the excellence we’ve come to expect from Saint-Estèphe, one of Bordeaux’s finest Cabernet appellations. Saint-Estèphe is known for producing wines of structure and depth, and this vintage is no exception. Crafted under the watchful eye of José Bueno—former technical director of Mouton Rothschild and Clerc Milon—the wine is a textbook example of Saint-Estèphe’s elegance, with vibrant blackcurrant, cherry, and graphite notes, wrapped in velvety tannins. With its certified organic vineyard practices and exceptional pedigree, this wine is both classic and forward-thinking—a must-have for Bordeaux enthusiasts.

Next, the 2022 Château Meilhan Bordeaux continues to impress as one of Liquid Kosher’s most consistent crowd-pleasers. Now in our third vintage of featuring this wine, it remains a Cabernet lover’s dream, particularly in the fruit-forward and approachable 2022 vintage. Brimming with ripe blackberries, cassis, and a touch of violet, this wine delivers power and vibrancy while maintaining its balance and finesse. Its silky texture and bold flavor profile make it the perfect choice for gatherings or weeknight indulgence, and it’s a bottle that consistently outperforms its price point. You would be pleasantly surprised to see older vintages aging gracefully in the cellars of those in the know. Meilhan is truly a hidden gem.

We complete this quarter’s release with the 2018 Marquisat de Binet Folie d’Élie, a wine that carries both elegance and a charming story. Often overshadowed by its renowned counterpart, Cuvée Abel, Folie d’Élie stands apart as a distinct expression of this exceptional property and region. Crafted primarily from Cabernet Franc—with a few Merlot vines scattered throughout the vineyard, following the practical wisdom of the winemaker’s grandfather: “Where you find a space, you plant a vine”—this wine showcases remarkable refinement and balance. Now at its peak drinking window, I thought it was the perfect opportunity to share this special wine in a Club release. The 2018 vintage offers layered flavors of plum, dark cherry, and subtle truffle, supported by polished tannins and a luxurious finish. At seven years of age, this wine has developed beautifully, delivering sophistication and depth that make it truly deserving of your attention.

This quarter’s selection celebrates the diverse expressions of Bordeaux, showcasing wines that combine tradition, craftsmanship, and exceptional quality. We hope these bottles bring joy to your table and inspire unforgettable moments with family and friends.
