As we welcome the vibrant days of summer, we are delighted to present a selection of wines that promise to elevate your seasonal experiences. Our summer release features three exceptional wines: the 2021 Château Castelbruck Margaux, the 2023 Timbre Winery White Blend, and the 2022 JP Marchand Burgundy Pinot Noir. These small production boutique wines are perfect for summer entertaining and showcase the dedication and artistry of their respective winemakers.
We are particularly proud to introduce the 2021 Château Castelbruck Margaux, a wine that exemplifies the elegance and finesse of the Margaux appellation. The 2021 harvest in Bordeaux presented unique challenges, including a cooler growing season and unprecedented spring frosts. However, the skilled vintners at Château Castelbruck rose to the occasion, producing a wine of remarkable quality and character.This vintage is a classic Margaux blend, predominantly Cabernet Sauvignon, with Merlot and Petit Verdot enhancing its complexity. The wine is distinguished by its deep ruby hue and a bouquet of blackcurrant, plum, and violet, underscored by nuances of cedar and tobacco. On the palate, it offers a silky texture, well-integrated tannins, and a long, elegant finish. Despite the hurdles of the 2021 growing season, this Margaux stands as a testament to the resilience and expertise of its producers. It could even be among the best releases ever.
Next, we bring you the 2023 Timbre Winery White Blend, an exquisite combination of barrel-fermented Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc. This blend is a perfect marriage of rich, creamy Chardonnay and the bright, zesty character of Sauvignon Blanc. The result is a wine that is both complex and refreshing, featuring notes of honeysuckle, apple, citrus, and tropical fruits. Its versatility makes it an ideal companion for a wide range of summer dishes, from fresh salads to grilled fish and poultry. While this delicious wine has the structure and complexity in place for further aging, we’ve found that these bottles have a naughty habit of emptying themselves rather quickly on a cheerful Friday afternoon.
Finally, we present the 2022 JP Marchand Burgundy Pinot Noir from the Hautes Cotes de Nuits appellation, an elegant and fruit-forward wine that embodies the finest qualities of Burgundy. This Pinot Noir shines with a bright ruby color and an aromatic profile of red berries, cherry, and subtle floral notes. On the palate, it is silky and smooth, with a perfect balance of acidity and tannins. One of the standout features of this vintage is its versatility. It is delightful to drink now, offering immediate pleasure with its fresh, vibrant fruit flavors.
