As we eagerly approach the season of Passover, a time of family gatherings, celebration, and of course plenty of wine, it is with great excitement that we unveil the treasures within our latest wine club box. This spring, we have curated an international selection that not only delights the senses but also pays homage to the diverse winegrowing regions that span the globe. These selections are as different as they are excellent, with the right amount of bottle age that begs for a corkscrew.
Featured prominently in this collection is the 2021 Lahat Adom Syrah Blend, a masterpiece crafted by none other than Itay Lahat himself. With 85% Syrah and 15% Cabernet Sauvignon, this red wine blend offers a unique sensory journey, boasting a nose brimming with intriguing notes of soy sauce, oak, mushroom, and smoke. This is our final release from the 2021 vintage, that we’ve been dutifully aging until we felt it was ready for release. Itay Lahat, a visionary winemaker dedicated to his craft, has captured the essence of his personally farmed vineyard in every sip, inviting us to savor the richness of his creation.
We are also thrilled to share the 2020 Les Graves de Lavaud, the latest release from our treasured partner winemaker, Christophe Bardeau at Domaine Roses Camille. It is worth noting that Domaine Roses Camille stands as Bordeaux’s only fully kosher winery, a beacon of excellence in the world of kosher wines. This estate vineyard was the final parcel to be switched over to kosher production, and the glorious 2020 vintage was the perfect time to do so. This medium-plus bodied wine enchants with its deeply floral aroma, vibrant red fruit flavors, and intense minerality, showcasing the unique character of the Lalande de Pomerol region. It’s had a nice amount of time to age in bottle before release, so this young wine can be enjoyed now, and you can also lay down cases to unlock the unique flavors and aromas of excellent wine after proper cellaring.
Lastly, we venture to the renowned Napa Valley with the 2018 Allegory Rutherford Napa Cabernet, a testament to the untapped potential of kosher wines in this illustrious region. Aged in new and one-year-old oak barrels, this single-vineyard gem promises to captivate the palate with its hallmark flavors and exquisite craftsmanship. The 2018 Napa vintage has been hailed as exceptional, characterized by optimal growing conditions, including moderate temperatures and extended hang time, resulting in wines of remarkable depth and complexity. This wine can be opened now and enjoyed, but has the potential to cellar nicely as well. Try it next to some of your typical California rotations and prepare to be pleasantly surprised. Expect to see more exploration of Liquid Kosher’s home state in upcoming club releases.
As we embark on this journey of discovery, exploring the hidden gems of kosher winemaking from around the world, we invite you to raise a glass with us in celebration of tradition, family, and the joy of sharing exceptional wines with loved ones!
